TransDigm Group is an American manufacturing company located in Cleveland, Ohio, and they focus on the development and manufacturing of aerospace components. TransDigm was first established in 1993 and initially operated with the name TD Holding Corporation. Its founders formed the company with the intention of acquiring and consolidating Adel Fasteners, Aero Products Component Services, Controlex Corporation, and Wiggins Connectors, all of which were purchased from IMO Industries Inc.

Upon completing their acquisitions, TD Holding renamed themselves to TransDigm, Inc. In their formative years, the company focused on the manufacturing and marketing of various aircraft components such as pumps, batteries, and fuel connectors. As TransDigm Group began acquiring other businesses, they slowly expanded upon their offerings. In 1998, TransDigm was acquired by Odyssey Investment Partners and remained their subsidiary until 2003 in which they were sold to Warburg Pincus LLC.

In 2006, TransDigm Group went public on the New York Stock Exchange and achieved $593 million in annual revenues by the following year. Since going public, TransDigm Group has acquired almost 50 businesses, and it has continued this focus on acquisitions leading into the present. Currently, TransDigm Group has continued to expand as they seek to further their acquisitions.
